Discovering Bali’s Prime Snorkeling Locations
Bali is home to several premier snorkeling sites, each offering unique underwater experiences. Padang Bai, with its Blue Lagoon and Tanjung Jepun, is particularly beginner-friendly, featuring calm waters and easy access by boat. Typical tours here involve two snorkeling sessions lasting about two hours combined with transfers and lunch. Amed, on the east coast, is renowned for its healthy shallow reefs and easy shore entry, making it one of the best snorkeling areas in Bali. Within Amed, Jemeluk Bay offers shallow reefs and an underwater temple area, accessible directly from the shore. Tulamben, just north of Amed, is famous for the USAT Liberty shipwreck, a site where snorkelers can explore parts of the wreck and observe diverse reef fish. Nusa Penida, known for its strong currents, offers the opportunity to snorkel with manta rays at Manta Point. Many tours here include visits to 3-4 sites, ensuring a comprehensive exploration of Bali’s marine life.
